Magazine Layout
06:44
As part of my brief is to make an actual
magazine, I wanted to look at different inspirational point to do with layout. When
I first think about creating a layout, I think it’s always important to consider
the context. So for example my work is about perspex, and perspex is considered
to be a playful, frivolous and man-made material, therefore my layout needs to
represent these things. For my main inspiration, I looked at Grafik magazine,
as there style is very playful and “modern” (am not sure the word modern still
means modern, as the word feels so dated now). I also took a trip to Ideas on
paper and was recommended to buy the book Editorial Design, which I found extremely
useful for the dos and don’ts of, digital and print. I also took my eye to Pinterst,
but I didn’t find much new inspiration as its all very similar looking (the
cereal magazine look).
