Equestrian team kit
04:12
When
I started at Nottingham Trent University, it quickly became apparent that its important
to get yourself involved in a society (partly so you can attend the weekly
event of ocean Wednesdays) but also to fell apart of a gang. So being a horsey
girl, I put myself down for everything equestrian, which was probably one of
the few but best decision I’ve made since stating uni. Before I knew it I was
on the team and going to horseball training every Monday night, training for
team every Tuesday, ocean on Wednesdays etc.
Which
bring me on to talk about kit! Being apart of a team comes with a fashion
related obsession with buying all the kit so everyone knows you’re apart of a
team. This forms a sort of tribal group, another way of portraying your
personal identity, and I think it’s a way of showing what you do and that your
good at something and your passionate enough to buy clothing to show it. I think the reason am so intrigued to why we buy into this clothing is because its not exactly flattering, or fashionable, yet were happy to spend the same amount on it as we do on day to day clothes. I i think this says a lot about spending habits, and if brands can mimic this feeling of being in a type of tribal group, maybe this will make customers less price sensitive.
Heres some photos to try and explain/picture what am trying to say...
Some team spirt...
