Pintrest Productivity

Since starting my course at Nottingham Trent University, I've been encouraged to develop my Pinterest accounts into a professional display of inspiration. This is something I've enjoyed, (I mean who gets to pin pretty pictures as part of their course work?) so I just wanted to show you my account, please follow me, and I'll keep pinning.

Although I believe Pinterest is a great tool, and can be used for fast bursts of inspiration, I think its important to note that everything on Pinterest has obviously already been done, making it what I call a backwards trend (meaning its reached its saturation point). You’ll never find the most forward thinking creative designers gaining inspiration from secondary sources such as Pinterest. They have to create their own in order to be forward thinking and 'fresh'. So just bare that in mind.

This page shows my response to a colour project, in the end I decided on a playful pastel colour range. But this board was a nice, quick and easy way to see a mass of colour stories over one page.

This page was abit of a piss take, its all about trends that have been over done/over used, and interior designers are just as bad as fashion.

the expression "fashion loves..." is something I copied from my head lecture, (his Pinterest account is defiantly worth a look  https://www.pinterest.com/tcrundle/)

This was my own version of how advertising has been over done. When you look at perfume advertisements for women, I always seem to come across adverts with men looking adoringly at the women whilst she's staring strongly into the camera. I think the brands trying to convince you that if you buy this perfume, you'll be loved like this but… we all know that’s not true.

This may be my favorite board; I made it for inspiration for a photo-shoot done about modern romantic neutrals. This helped me build ideas about what couloirs were on trend, and what worked well. I also used to look at what’s already been done, so I could think of something that perhaps juxtapose that typical way.
